Administration and Distribution Centres:

The main emphases of the project is the children's physical and psychological well-being and their education, being taught life skills as well as academic subjects. Conferences, seminars and courses addressing related childcare, health and educational issues will be scheduled to be held in the main admin centre frequently. After school apprenticeships in farming, animal husbandry, cheese-making are part of the vision also. The long term goal - creating a network of family homes across the Crimea that take orphan children out of the institutions, to give them a family, an education and a real chance in life.





With a utilitarian truck for haulage, a distribution centre is under construction for handling humanitarian aid donations. The roof is on and windows and doors are in, we need a floor and walls plastered before it is ready for use. Meanwhile the admin building is proving to be multi-purpose.






Summer Camp:

Two farms and an adjoining field make up the body of land to be developed within the River of Joy project. Two additional farms at the opposite end of the field have been offered to us to buy, but as yet we await legislation and documentation from the necessary ministry departments before we can move forward with our plans. Until then we use the site in the summer for camp for city and village kids alike. In our employ and working ardently with the local authorities is our RoJ Director and a year round on-site caretaker.
